The Fallen

I was given a harsh reminder the other day of how dangerous and important my husbands job is; two West Memphis officers were shot and killed and two more were injured. Its a scary thing to wrap your head around. It hurts my heart to think about how much these families are hurting and how much their brothers in blue are hurting. Officers from all over the U.S are feeling the pain of losing one of their own and I hurt as a spouse of one of those brothers. There are so many officers within our department that I love and care about deeply and I pray for them all daily for their safety. I also hurt because a brother in red died this weekend from injuries sustained in a fire in January, I hurt for his family and brothers in red also. We sometimes forget that these things can happen to someone we know, Im sure when those West Memphis officers left their homes to go to work that day their families never thought it would be their last day on the job, sadly it was but they will forever be heros who lost their lives doing a job that most wouldnt do and take for granted. The fireman, our brothers in red also have a dangerous job and in a heartbeat a fire can take them just as quickly as a bad guy can take a police officer. I only hope that the fallen officers from West Memphis can rest in peace knowing that the ones that took their lives wont be resting in peace. I wish the families and fellow brothers in red can find comfort in their time of loss as we mourn for Lt. David Curlin of the Pine Bluff Fire Dept who Im sure has left a lasting effect on everyone that knew and loved him. In closing, I pray to God everyday to keep all public servants safe and let them come home to their loved
ones....
Blessed are those that hunger and thirst for righteousness for they will be filled,
Blessed are the merciful for they will be shown mercy
Blessed are the pure of heart for they shall see God
Blessed are the peacemakers for they will be called Sons of God
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness
for theirs is the kingdom of Heaven......Amen
